It has been wondered and asked enough. The number of Eastern Asian superstars in Western music industry are dwindling few. As an Asian artist myself, living in Western Europe, I’ve wondered about its possible reasons.

My thoughts brought me to the conclusion that the western music industry is threatened by what eastern Asians are capable of. Just put it this way; if the western music industry put out more Eastern Asians and get them to dominate the charts, then westerners will start to idolise easterners and will start look at them for their way of living. Just look at how the way easterners idolised and prefer western cultures. If eastern Asians are to dominate the charts of the western music industry then eastern Asia would be controlling what’s in and what is not. It basically means that whoever has that control also will have the money and power.

With the eastern Asian’s technology and knowledge in this digital age, putting Asian artists in western music charts will mean that they are giving a massive chance to the easterners to take control and takeover.

To summarise things swiftly, I think that we should encourage and promote our cultures more without the fear of adapting to the competition.

This is my first ever blog and I would love to write more and elaborate about this subject but it is getting really late (1:20 AM in the UK). Perhaps I would continue this blog in another entry when I get more used to Tumblr and blogging my thoughts.
